Some say there’s little left to write about Hogan the golfer. From his early days as a caddy and the rivalry with Nelson, his early failures and late success, the accident, major victories and of course his famous swing, a lot has already been said.
Yet few know of Ben Hogan the club maker, inventor, innovator: experimenting with new ideas, new materials and all manner of weird and wonderful designs to build better clubs. Hogan was, if nothing else, a one man R&D department.
